Sales of motorcycles have plummeted by staggering 80%
Motorcycle sales in Pakistan
have taken a huge hit as they dropped by a whopping 80% because of high prices
caused by inflation.
Dealers who sell motorcycles
are asking the companies that make them and the people who provide the parts to
lower their prices, so people can afford to buy them.
The Executive of the Karachi Bike Vendors Affiliation Mohammad
Ahsan Gujjar is stressed over how awful the deals of cruisers have.
He said that despite the fact that the cost of the US dollar has
gone down contrasted with the Pakistani rupee and the expense of petroleum has
fallen, clients are as yet battling in light of the fact that costs have
remained high.
Gujjar made sense of that they used to sell around 30,000 bikes
consistently in Karachi. In any case, presently, they're just selling around
6,000.
He's asking the organizations that make bicycles, similar to the
ones from China and Japan, to bring down the costs by Rs20,000 for 70cc
motorbikes and Rs40,000 for greater ones.
Japanese organizations raised
the costs of their bikes with 100cc, 125cc, and 150cc motors by Rs125,000 to
Rs175,000 over the course of the last eighteen months.
Gujjar thinks they should change
that because the US dollar is worth less now, around Rs284, and the materials
to make the bikes cost less too. So, the bike prices should come down.
The dealers in Karachi sell all
kinds of bikes, from Atlas Honda and Suzuki to Super Power, Super Star, Unique,
Hi-Speed, and more.
Gujjar called attention to that
the vast majority purchase ordinary 70cc bicycles, particularly those from the
working class and lower-working class gatherings.
The top of the affiliation
likewise cautioned that sellers are finding it hard to keep their organizations
running since they need to pay their laborers, bills, and different expenses,
and in the event that things don't get better soon; they could need to shut
down.
